Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
What would happen if Goldilocks had two horrid stepsisters and fell asleep for a hundred years? Would she be woken by a hungry wolf or Little Red Riding Hood's Granny? This book allows the reader to mix and match different combinations of fairy tales with hilarious results.

5 out of 5 stars Giggles every time!   August 29, 2010

I am a teacher in a rural school, and all 32 children from nurseryto P7 love to look at, read, and listen to stories from this book. When we read as a whole class, we all end up in stitches (and I think the children must know every combination by now). A great book, I am just about to order for my four year old and all his friends for Christmas presents!

This book is so much fun for children. I do agree with one other review though that the pages are a bit flimsy but that doesn't take away from the fun factor.

4 out of 5 stars Great Illustrations, Great Fun   June 9, 2010

Just bought this book as a present for a reception class (4-5 year olds) that I have been helping out with.

It has been incredibly popular and is a great one for kids who are just starting to read as they will sit there for quite a while making their own fairy tales, reading by themselves.

Reminds me alot of a book that I used to have when I was a child: Ketchup on Your Cornflakes?, might be a good follow up if this book is a success!

Enjoy,

~Joseph-J

2 out of 5 stars A good idea BUT.....   May 12, 2010

Great concept but...

1) This book is very flimsy and cheap in quality; it is not going to last 5 minutes unless your children are extremely careful or are supervised. The very nature of this book is that the strips are flipped back and forth continually to make fresh stories and the paper quality is just not up to it.

2)The story sentences are too brief (obviously to fit into the concept that each sentence follows on). Being this brief means they are not challenging enough to hold the interest of an older child, yet a younger child may not yet understand the mixed up concept.

My 7 year old flicked through, understood the 'joke' but was done in 5 minutes. My 3.5 year old didn't get the joke and only recognised each story when it was correct. Maybe for 5 year olds then?

Anyway, wish I'd bought a ladybird classic fairystory for the little one and a Dinosaur Cove for the 7 year old.

Anyway, you live and learn.

5 out of 5 stars A SUPERB BOOK!!!!   March 13, 2010

This is a fantastic book which the children in my class (Year 2/3) find absolutely hilarious! They've even started squabbling over who gets it at reading time! It's also a great resource to help encourage those less keen readers. Hilary Robinson's 'Magical Mix-Ups' has also just arrived which is another great hit with the children.
