Fascinating too June 25, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book is worth the price just for the Alchemical lore and Gardiner's thoughts on psychological healing/gnosis.
'The Bond Code' is highly readable and I liked the way the author explores his thesis - gently - without shoving facts at you. I had an idea that Ian Fleming was interested in the Occult but not that he was so immersed in it.
This book has one major fault - it is too short. There is so much left to explore here and I hope Gardiner writes a sequel or at least a longer version. Absolutely fascinating - and I shall be re-reading my set of Bond novels as 'Alchemical journey's'.
Facinating... May 19, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
As an avid fan of Ian Fleming and his charactor James Bond. I was pleased to pick up a copy of Philip Gardiner's portrayal of the great writer. From the very first page right up to the last, I was facinated, and enlightened by what I read. I would highly recommend this book to any other James Bond Fan. While writing this review, I would also like to recommend Andrew Towning's 'Dead Men Don't Bite'.
