Interesting, Witty and Very informative! January 6, 2009 I wanted a book that explained everything about investing in shares to someone who knew nothing about the subject! I must say how surprised I was that this book was a real page turner.I could not put it down!
Packed full of information that is invaluable to the novice investor and advice that makes you take a good look at yourself and question where your motivation lies!
Simply,I recommend you to is BUY THIS BOOK!!
Must have! December 27, 2008 To put it in perspective, I'm a 23 year old student doing a business degree (which includes various finance modules - currently corporate finance). I've also traded shares very infrequently over the last few years - recently with markets plunging and my savings interest rate slashed, i've decided to take things into my own hands.
So, with this basic knowledge I bought this book after reading good reviews (bearing in mind, other than academic texts I've not read anything continuously for a long time). I found this book hard to put down, over about 2-3 days i'm well over 2/3 of the way through! It is so easy to read, slightly humourous in places and set out in a jargon-free way that I think would appeal to people with no knowledge at all.
It won't tell you how to turn 100 into 100,000,000 (ie. it won't give you false hope), but it is excellent for identifying and showing how to get rid of those nasty trading habits which will lose you money.
I have started applying the guidelines robbie uses to my current shares - needless to say there are some i am looking to get rid of a.s.a.p!!! He does give you a good idea of what to look for in a company, where to get it from and what to avoid - the things that usually take years of mistakes to learn!
At less than 10, this book could save you hundreds, maybe thousands by gettting rid of those mistakes which you will make if you're just starting out. I've learnt a LOT despite a little experience and studying business, this book will have saved me a lot of by showing me where I am (or potentially was) going wrong
Fantastic Book December 20, 2008 After reading a few books on this subject, The Naked Trader is by far the best.
Robbie gives a no-nonsense approach to what you need to know in order to become a successful trader. He doesn't paint a pretty picture to scam you out of your money, as at the end of the day you have to put in the hard work if you want to be a success.
Overall a very entertaining, informative and fantastic book!
1 AND ONLY BOOK 4 ANYONE INTERESTED IN SHARE DEALING December 19, 2008 Wow!!!. Alot of people purchase a wide variety of books about share dealing. Many of which get left on the bookcase to collect dust, why is that? Because they're so hard to understand!!! Financial books as a whole are complex but when it comes to share dealing it reaches a new level. I had a few books in relation to the topic of share dealing and not only did I get bored quickly of them, but I couldn't understand a thing. As Robbie points out in his book all the technical jargon used is a way to make the writer feel important and above their reader. And that I feel is 110% true. Within the first few pages I had learnt more about the subject of shares then I ever did reading other books or related webpage's. Robbie explains all the jargon clearly and what it really means, in a excellent fashion. I would strongly urge anybody who is thinking of purchasing this book to get it. I guarantee you won't be disappointed. Robbie has wrote a book which allows absolute beginners such as myself to understand entirely about trading shares, whilst allowing experienced traders to gain new trading strategies and eliminate bad trading habits. Another golden quality about this book is the more personal touch Robbie gives it. He openly talks about his experiences and how he got there. I mean the guy started from scratch he's not just another author who is a financial expert who only learnt what they know from universities, he's done it all himself. He tells you what trades he makes and also gives you his trading strategies (something you won't find in other books). It's a book which you can pick up and read anytime and definitely one for daily commuting. I can't tell you enough how good this book is as it's in a league of it's own. The price you pay either on Amazon or in stores is nothing compared to the knowledge you shall gain on the subject.
Essential Reading... December 11, 2008 Clearly, if you're reading this whilst searching for a book that will guide you safetly through the trading maze then rest assured you're already on the right track. IMHO you can do no better than NT 2nd Edition.
Informative, relevent and humerous it stands you, (the novice/jaded trader) in front of a mirror and invites you to take an honest look at your attitudes, style and approach. Throughout the book, advice, tips and overall content are easy to read and help to develop a framework for potentially succesful trades.
Being both a novice at trading and not a particularly avid reader myself, I get bored easily by waffle and jargon, neither of which I'm glad to say, you'll find in this book... so, if your attitude to 'risk' extends to taking a chance on a well written, highly recommended book then I'd say...do it...click that 'buy' button.
