An excellent starter book for learning the Spanish language December 11, 2001

This book, along with Book 2, really helped me in my quest to master the language.
I was a complete beginner when I set out and I found the format of this book appealing but also challenging, giving you something to 'get your teeth into' but at the same time providing plenty of help grammatically and with vocabulary.
I would recommend using a good Spanish dictionary when studying. I had a tutor when I was using the book but really with reflection this book provides everything to get you started.
I found the text, exercises and revision topics a useful aid to studying for GCSE - the grammar sections especially provided the best explanations for why and how expressions are used that I have seen in any text book to date.
Overall an excellent starter book for learning the Spanish language and mastering its grammar.
