This little book is fab. Each grammar point is easily explained. I'm degree level but still this is the only grammar book I use.

This is a superb book. I bought my first copy back in 1982 on the recommendation of a friend, who told me that if I learned everything in it I would get an A in French. I think he was right.
The book is a collection of clearly written notes and examples that cover everything you need to know about French grammar. If I want a simple, clear answer about any point of French grammar I reach for my copy of 1001 Points. It has never failed me.
1001 Points doesn't contain any question or exercises for practising grammar, but that's fine, it isn't intended as that kind of book. I've bought a different textbook to provide me with the practice questions I need, but I still keep refering back to this one.
Astoundingly good November 6, 2005 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
I had this at school myself years ago, and I think it was out of print then, back in the 1980s.If you're learning French or know someone who's studying it at school, just go buy it right now. It crams every little rule about grammar into about 60 pages. There's nothing at all about French grammar which you can't look up in this book in a minute or two. Yes, this sounds a little too gushing, but it really is that good.
