Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars Historical survey of Italian Lit - not a book to learnerns of the language   August 3, 2008
2 out of 2 found this review helpful

The pieces included in the book are chosen to supply a historical survey of Italian literature. Most of the pieces are not chosen as interesting stories - some of them are truncated in the middle of a story.

I was misled to think this is a reader for students of Italian - arranged in progression from the easy to the more difficult, and chosen to be interseting and absorbing to read and in this way helping to learn the language - but was totally disappointed.

This book may be a set text for those taking a course of Italian Literature. It is not suitable at all for somebody looking for a reader to improve one's Italian.
