A lovely Annual - but mind the gaps! September 27, 2008

Another lovely reprint of a classic Bestall Rupert Annual. Last year's facsimile was the 1959 annual, why the huge gap? I was not expecting a reprint of the 1960 annual, but there is nothing to offend in the 1961 or 1962 books (one annual contains a story with a jolly Chinese pilot and the other a mysterious stranger wearing a fez!) Come on, Egmont, don't you think you are being a wee bit timid, bring out facsimiles of the 1961 and 1962 annuals, there is nothing wrong with them.

fantastice stories, expert draughtmanship, brilliantly executed art work to draw the reader into magical Nutwood! just the thing for a collecter of fine books such as this one, its just a shame this years newest annual isnt this good, or the one before it!
