This is a great collection of Jill Scotts poetry, as soulful and sexy as her music. Simply great to read and immerse yourself in. If you love her music, you'll love her poetry, it's as easy as that.

Like her music, the poetry of the incomparable Ms Scott is lyrical, beautifully paced, and clearly comes from within her soul.

This book is an absolute gem. Now i bought it simply because im an incredibly dedicated fan of everything Jill Scott and i, admittedly, didnt expect what i found. It's cliche to claim that is was fantastic and i could put it down and consequently read it cover to cover but it's also, essentially, the truth. I'm not usually one to get drawn into things emotionally but Scott always seems to have that effect and this book is filled with beautiful poetry that captures the imagination and forces the reader to want more. It's neither pretentious nor "arty" and achieves its goal. To take us on a journey with Scott, a journey which even a non-jill fan,as i like to call them, would appreciate. Her poetry is strong and pure. It comes from her heart and manages to touch the readers heart. And if it's just some good entertainment you want, it's equally useful.
