An Enchanting Sequel January 8, 2005 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
Touch of Enchantment is the sequel to Breath of Magic and centres around Tabitha, the daughter of Arian and Tristan Lennox. Inheriting her father's brain and her mother's power, Tabitha has always viewed her magic as a curse, understandably so when one can suddenly end up naked in the Mall after admiring a displayed dress. When her parents disappear, Tabitha receives a strange package from her mother containing a mysterious emerald amulet. Using her computer to analyse it, she is astounded by the advanced technology it contains. Whilst examining it further she triggers it's powers and clutching her kitten Lucy, the pair are whisked to 1254 and into the path of a knight in tarnished armour.Sir Colin Ravenshaw has returned from the Crusades after 6 years to find his home destroyed, his family murdered and his people abused, the culprit Sir Roger, the twin brother to Regan, a young girl impregnated by Colin. She later kills herself and Roger blames Colin for his sister's suicide. Sir Colin does not know what to make of the strange young woman who appears before him with her shorn hair and unusual clothing (pyjamas and chipmunk slippers) yet finds himself drawn to her. When Tabitha's powers are revealed after she saves the life of a young girl, Colin announces to his people that he will burn the witch yet finds himself unable to do her harm. In fact when Roger allies himself with the McDuff clan and Colin and his people face destruction, Tabitha's magic becomes their secret weapon. This book was even better than it's prequel, and the end scenes of Tabitha pining for her lover before her knight returns to claim her are wonderful. My only complaint is that the disappearance of Arian and Tristan is never explained - they just appear again when Tabitha returns to her own time. Despite this minor flaw this book was an enchanting read and will be appreciated by fans of magical and lighthearted romance.
Another good read. October 9, 2004 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
A Lovely Scientist With No Taste For MagicHeiress Tabitha Lennox considered her paranormal talents more of a curse than a gift. So she dedicated her life to the cold, rational world of science. Until the day she examined the mysterious amulet her mother had left her and found herself catapulated seven centuries into the past--directly into the path of a rearing black charger ridden by a chain-mailed warrior. A Fearless Knight With No Time For Love Sir Colin Of Ravenshaw had returned from the crusades to find his Castle in ruins, his enemy poised to overrum the land where generations of Ravenshaws had ruled. The last thing he expected was to half trample a damsel with odd garb and even odder manners. But it is her strange talent that will create trouble beyond Colin's wildest imaginings. For everyone knows that a witch must be burned...but it is Colin's heart that is aflame, over an enchanting woman he must not love, yet cannot live without.
Fantastic - My Favorite! August 25, 1999 Of all of the Medeiros books, this is my favorite. It's a wonderful, exciting sequel to Breath of Magic (my second favorite). I hope she writes many more.
Bewitching... April 8, 1999 Teresa does it again first with Breath of Magic and now touch of Enchantment. She is truly a great author. Teresa must have a little bit of magic to bewitch readers so well.
First Teresa Medeiros book I have ever read March 10, 1999 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
What a fantastic book, I picked it up on the spur of the moment and am so glad I did. I love it when an author continues a book in a sequal so was doubly excited to find out I could read Tristens and Arian's story. Ms. Medeiros is talented in a way so few authors are. She can combine humor and a captivating story all in one. Humor is often missing in this type of book. That is why I do not usually read them. To pick up a love story that can make you bust a gut with laughter is such a joy. Now don't get me wrong this is not a comedy, but the author has a way of breaking those tense moments with a little laugh now and then which I find wonderfully refreashing. I will be picking up more of her books that is for sure.
