Customer Reviews:

1 out of 5 stars Silly, Dull. Avoid   January 8, 2009
Old fashioned storyline that tries to be cool with lots of swearing and gay sex. Bizarre and unconvincing.

I would recommend proper old fashioned fantasy by either David Gemmell or Raymond Feist, or proper modern fantasy by either Joe Abercrombie or Scott Lynch, over this offering.

Give the steel remains a miss, let it rust quietly in the second hand bookshops where it will end up (and where I found it originally).

5 out of 5 stars Simply the most entertaining football book out there!   October 29, 2008

A collection of really enjoyable accounts of each authors favourite season following their club.

Hilarious, interesting, clever and nostalgic. I have read my now well-thumbed copy several times over.

Covers Chelsea, Watford, a hapless season at Cambridge Utd, Middlesbrough, Rep of Ireland (Roddy Doyle), an Oxford season under Maxwell etc etc.

As each short story is individual, you can dip in and out of it too. This book never fails to make me smile - highly recommended!
