Just a little too far-fetched. April 18, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Wren and Maggie. Lots of plot weirdness in this story. I mean, why, do the bears run the Sanctuary if they don't like what they do. No runaway (katagarian, arcadian or human) would stay in a place where they weren't welcome.
The mystery was excellent... and its solution; which I didn't understand but it involved time-travel and some very clever twists. However the mystery belongs entirely to Wren. There is no reason why the heroine would want to get involved. And I got the impression that unusually for a DH story the romance was rushed. It's all very well for Maggie to keep saying she's tired of being one of the rich elite of NO, but 2 chapters later she's a double murderess without having had the slightest conversation with anyone about the ethics of her actions. Just a little bit too much character jumping for this reader to cope with.
An enjoyable read nonetheless.
Another excellent addition to the Dark Hunter series September 1, 2006 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've read every book in the Dark Hunter series and this one does not fall short of the excellent standard that Sherrilyn Kenyon has set. Wren and Maggie are slightly different from the previous couples in that there is a definite air of teen-rebels-versus-the-world about them (even though neither are teenagers) but I actually found this quite refreshing. Also the fact that it is a were-hunter story helps - I am definintely of the faction that thinks the were-hunter books are better than the straight dark hunter books. There is more exposition about the whole underlying mythology and a cameo from Nick Gaultier.

Who wouldn't love a tiger April 30, 2006 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
I like all of Sherrilyn Kenyon's books but I particularily like the story of Maggie and Wren. They are both troubled souls, misunderstood by their peers and isolated.
This is a store of triumph over adversity, a love conquers all tale and although the end doesn't promisse happy ever afters it leaves a feeling of hope.
FAB BOOK - HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT April 5, 2006 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I really enjoyed this book. Sherilyn Kenyon is a very gifted writer. I could feel the emotions of the characters in the book. I would encourage people to read other books in this series as I've enjoyed them all and await the next one in the series to be published.
