Good book June 8, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I like other cannot put the book down, but I got bored with the rebellion. I didn't care about the people and just wanted to get back to the others in the book. The logic of the Adar was flawed and I found myself screeming at him.
A little slow, but still a magnificent read October 19, 2006 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
I am a huge fan of this whole series to tell you the truth so once i picked up Scattered Suns it was inevitable that i would end up reading it in about three days flat. There are areas of this book when the plot seems to stumble and slow unnecessarily but i guess thats always a risk with such a huge cast and so many plot threads playe out over vast distances. This doesnt substantionally detract from a great story well told (some of the dialogue lacks a bit of imagination) but some of the stories are played out with such tension and emotion one tends to look past a few sentences that might make you cringe a little.
A great read, i recommend not only this book but the whole series to anyone.

The continuation of this incredibe series is simply amazing. I was hooked from the first page. The way the chapters are divided to follow the different major characters kept me reading the entire book until I'd finished it. The intrigue and plot twists are timed to perfection and the end of the story left me wanting the next book immediately.
Taking a sharp turn for the worse July 26, 2006 2 out of 7 found this review helpful
I like Sci-fi to be about the vast aeons of time, hard tech, and huge dangers. So on the surface you would think this series would be great. The aliens in this book are so superficial and lacking in imigination its incredible. Earth, water, fire, wind. Aliens made from the elemens?? COME ON! Quick synopsis: Earth aliens are attacked by wind. Oh horror. Humans cant do anything but watch as elementas are all too powerful. Out of nowhere comes fire to help earth and all is good. Fire cant be trusted, but water dont like fire and water likes humans so water will help agains fire. I have read all sci-fi books from all the major writers, and this is just not worth reading. I hope i can help you avoid this book.
A good story, but... April 8, 2006 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
...I do feel that there could have been so much more to this book, and indeed to this series as a whole. The makings of an excellent story are there, but it feels like there's a great deal missing. My main problem with the series is that events often seem to occur simply because the plot requires them, rather than the plot developing as a consequence of events - so some authenticity is missing. I also find the fast-paced, short chapter idea interesting, but frustrating more often than not. Sometimes you really want to get into the heads of some of the main characters, but the author's whistlestop approach to the story doesn't allow it. However, despite this I still found it quite a decent read - so 3 stars.
