Very different from 1984 October 16, 2003

A solid and well writen book in all repects, but the comparisons with 1984 only stretch so far. This book is more of a journey through a world which is entirely controlled by drugs and the higher classes. The first sections of this classic are a joy to read, funny, interesting and very imaginative. However, the comparisons with 1984 are ill founded. 1984 is far darker, deeper and much more of an adventure. Brave new world touches on being a genuine story but is essentially a documentary through a very intrueging adn strange world. A great read though, well worth a purchase and should be in everyones collection!
