| Customer Reviews:
"Bron Universe" series book 1 June 8, 2008 Adrienne Backett has only two months left before graduating with honours; however fate ensures she never completes her degree. Facing molestation at the hands of a disgruntled, expelled student, one of the last things Adrienne witnesses before losing consciousness is the student's head separated from his body and rolling towards her.
In the dimension of Bron, King Malik of Ulan has at last located the woman destined to rule at his side; his equal in temperament and magick. In the nick of time he retrieves his future wife from harm and whisks her back to Bron; never considering how she will react when separated from friends and family in her own world. Unfortunately as a soul matched couple, Malik soon begins to feel Adrienne's emotions and realises her happiness has now become his own.
Adrienne is soon informed she has ten days to get to know Malik before their marriage takes place; with or without her consent. As she struggles to accept her new life and the magick she is now capable of wielding, the constant threat of assassination surrounding her and a total stranger insisting they marry, she soon proves herself the equal of Malik. Never before have any of the Royal Court of Ulan witnessed their King back down or apologise for his behaviour; yet his spoilt nature and his ensuing violence when disobeyed are quelled by a slight touch or soft word from Adrienne. Many welcome the change in Malik and quickly grow to love their new Queen; however there are traitors amongst them able to avoid detection from even the powerful Malik and a plan in place to harm Adrienne.
The dictatorial Malik has spent over ten years in complete control of Ulan and all its citizens, yet suddenly he finds himself at a loss how to deal with the one woman he would see happy above all else. Everything he does (or doesn't do) appears to upset Adrienne, yet neither can deny their fierce attraction to each other; resulting in some seriously passionate encounters. With an entertaining and weaving plot line and plenty of well developed secondary characters with their own personal issues to deal with (assisted by Adrienne) this book is a highly absorbing read. "Adrienne" is the only book DRB currently has in print; however she has created several other universes with plenty of works either drafted or in progress. I'm hoping some canny publishing house realises the talent this author has and snaps up these other series (and hopefully further novels set in the Bron universe) as quickly as possible.
