Imaginative, original and magical March 10, 2006 14 out of 20 found this review helpful
How can you not get totally engrossed in this book?? Whatever your age you cannot help but be swept into the magical lands that Blyton has so wonderfully created. This was one of the few books I actually read as a child and truly loved.
the folk of the far away tree February 10, 2006 12 out of 15 found this review helpful
the folk of the far away tree is one of the best books i have ever read.I am only ten years old and i love it.I love all books with magic in.I first herd of this book because my friend was reading it at school and she said that it was a relly good book so i thought that i should start reading it.Oo if you have the folk of the far away tree sitting there in your cupburd pull it out and start reading it.my mum loves reading it to me.Any body would love toread it,even your mums, dads, grandads, grannys even your brothers and sisters will wont to stat reading it once you have told them about it.Your brthers and sisters will even read it if they dont like magic or dont bealeave in magic. THIS IS THE BEST BOOK EVER,EVER,EVER!!!!
A hark back to my childhood December 26, 2004 61 out of 61 found this review helpful
I loved all of Enid Blyton's books as a child. Now as a mother myself I have loved them again as I have reread them to my children. I now live in the USA and Enid Blyton is unheard of so family send me some and Amazon fills in the blanks. This Christmas my Mum brought this DVD and the Wishing Chair one too. We have to have a multi region player to watch these but the chance to relive my childhood makes it worth while. In the days of Rugrats, The Simpsons et al it is refreshing to see real stories that still engage children with the magic that is lacking in real life. Some aspects of the stories are a little different from the book but only to adults who remember them!LOL So in review I would recommend this DVD to anyone with children under 8, my 7 1/2 year old son still enjoyed this as he can read the books on his own now and the DVD brought the characters in his imagination to life. So for good old fashioned stories which you can safely let children watch alone you can't go far wrong with this purchase.
