For a different viewpoint - read these books December 2, 2008 Secrets of Esoteric Christianity: The Two Marys, the Two Families of Jesus, and the Incarnation of Christ by Gilbert Childs
The Mystery of the Two Jesus Children: and the Descent of the Spirit of the Sun: And the Descent of the Spirit of the Sun by Bernard Nesfield-Cookson
Closer to the truth than ever before November 10, 2008 She uses historical facts and spiritual intuition to write her books. This one re-tells the story of Jesus in a way that will really upset many but not those who can take the truth as it truly is. She definately is controversial as she points out the similarites of the Jesus story with Buddha, Krishna and many others all having similar stories. This is where she backs it all up with historical facts which cannot be disputed (i've checked). Others writers like Zecharia Sitchin have more evidence to back up some of her claims in this book. Her spirit guide is the only part of the book which I think we could have done without, but if you aren't a Bible thumper but find the life of Jesus intriguing and incomplete, then you'll love this book!
Sincere truth April 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Sylvia Brown is a very simple, down to earth person even thought she is a psychic. She is obviously a very devout Christian with a great love of Jesus, who wants to put down the simple truth and go beyond all the hype, misconceptions and man made myths. Her book portrays Christ for what he was, a highly spiritual being who came to earth for the task of bringing God's message to the people, and who was misunderstood and used as a pawn in the politics and religion of the time. Her arguments make sense and strip away all the hype. It gave me a far better understanding of Jesus and his life which make far more sense to me in terms of the world and how it works as against all the stories and hyperbole which are the norm about the story of The Christ.
Misses the mark February 18, 2008 Having read this book I was only able to give 1* as unfortunately I found it very disappointing. It is full of half truths and with constant references to the Bible to support her arguments,Sylvia Browne's efforts here fall well short of the mark.Should you want to read a book on this topic which is truly astounding I would thorougly recommend a book by Claire Heaton entitled Martha's Voice - Portrait In Words.Once you have started to read this book I guarantee you will not be able to put it down. Claire Heaton's book will enable you to make your own comparison between the two and understand what I mean. The truth will resonate within you once you have understood her message. You will have no more doubts about this subject. It settles all misconceptions once and for all.
controversial but makes sense January 30, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am truly grateful that this book has been written. It is a wonderful account of the life of Jesus. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to know more about this remarkable man, and is willing to view his life from a psychic's perspective. I feel closer to the Jesus I met in this book than I have to Jesus portrayed anywhere else. Jesus comes across as a real person in this book and not a distant historical figure, and yet his Divinity and spirituality are not reduced by this. Sylvia Browne feels this book is Divinely inspired and is the truth about Christ and having read it, I agree. The man in these pages really is and deserves to be, one of the greatest role models humanity has ever had.
