Absolutely brilliantFebruary 17, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book is a lovely romance brought to us by a brilliant writer. Thank you Radclyffe. I was engrossed in the story right from the first page. The two heroines were both so very innocent in matters of the heart. Although I wanted to read this book quickly to find out whether Jessie and Kate would find true love and happiness, at the same time I wanted to savour every last page of it. What a dilemma! When I had finished this book, I realised that Radclyffe had written a sequel. Promising Hearts. Well, needless to say, I was straight on Amazon ordering it. All together an excellent book.
another successJuly 22, 2006 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
Radclyffe has got to be one of the best authors around and she doesn't let down with this book. The storyline is along the lines of young girl without a clue about her sexuality meets fairly knowledgable woman and falls hard. It's always interesting to read books that deal with the acknowledgment of such feelings and desires and the hardships of doing so. This is made an even bigger part of the book due to its being set in the 1800's. Not exactly the best time to get involved in a lesbian relationship!
The characters are lovable and you find yourself getting very impatient to find out the end. A very touching book which you will probably finish in one sitting so clear out space in the diary before you start!
An innocent love storyJune 13, 2002 13 out of 14 found this review helpful
This is a wonderful story set in 1860's Montana. A young Boston woman has to face up to the hardships of life on the frontier. There she meets a woman who owns her own ranch and together they find friendship and love.
This is a great story from one of my favourite writers. A must read book.
