The best and rarest Buffy graphic novel there is! July 7, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is the best Buffy graphic novel that i have ever read! It is so rare and hard to find these days, making it a real collectors item. I loved seeing all the slayers through the ages and getting the first look at Fray, Joss' slayer of the future. This is an essential part of the Buffy universe!
Best Buffy Graphic novel ever! July 7, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is an absolute must have for any fan of Buffy! These tales of the slayers of the past, present and future are fantastic. Joss Whedon supplies great stories and insights into the world and mythology of the slayers and Amber Benson (Tara) even pens one too! If you can find a copy grab hold of it quickly. A real treat!
Joss=Genius! December 30, 2006 Ok so i bought this mainly because i loved the show and comics so was curious to see how the two could blend and im glad i did, although we only meet two characters from the show in The first slayer and Nikki Woods it doesnt matter because the storytelling is excellent. The artwork varies from looking childish to amazingly detailed but each style suits the story its telling.Fans of the show will enjoy finding out about past and future slayers but this also makes it accessible to new Buffy fans as it doesnt directly rely on the show so the stories can be followed with ease, i strongly recommend this collection of stories to pretty much all the shows fans and newcomers.
Must have for true Buffy fans December 29, 2006 This is a graphic novel which give us a few insights into the previous and future incarnations of the Slayer. The artwork is vivid yet classily done and the stories are both sad and exciting. It's a lovely thing to have and keep, i'd recommend for any true Buffy fan.
Brilliant! November 3, 2004 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
Now lets get this clear; this book is irrelevent unless you like Buffy or Angel. Its a great little collection of stories by the writers on the show, with some brilliant artwork. There is a twist at the end of almost every one of the 8 stories which the fans will love; I know I did. The best stories are ones which manage to convey a good set of characters, and then give it a twist at the end or an emotional moment. The best stories are Presumption, Sonnenblume, Nikki goes down and Tales. The latter two are of note; the "nikki" in "Nikki goes down" is indeed Nikki Wood, principle (season 7) Wood's mother, the slayer that was killed by Spike in the seventies. "Tales" is a based on Joss' slayer of the future, Fray. As well as the super cool artwork, the final moment...fills you with some kind of happiness. I won't ruin it, but you remeber everything you love about the show in the final panel. If you own a Buffy comic and not this; sell the Buffy comic and buy this!
