into the Fire September 21, 2007 17 out of 18 found this review helpful
I am a huge richard laymon fan owning all but a couple of his books,so when i saw 'INTO THE FIRE'on Amazon i was amazed & thrilled that i had possibly missed one of his books.I ordered it at once & eagerly awaited its arrival. To my profound disappointment,on opening my package & reading the write up,i discovered that this book was actualy 'THE GLORY BUS'.I know that i should of read the description of this book before buying it,but i was so excited to see it that i forgot.I feel that Amazon should of stated that this book was also known under its origanal title.I do feel slightly misinformed.
new laymon book September 14, 2007 1 out of 5 found this review helpful
i have some wonderful news for laymon fans. about a week ago my wife and i were in one of those thrift shops and on one of there bookselves i found a laymon novel. i looked inside the book and found out that it was nothing like any of the other books. i looked on the web but they didn't seem to mention anything about it. i was puzzled. it's called "Vera" i think that it is out of print. perhaps one of Laymon's earlier works. i am reading the book and i am sure that it different. this isn't a joke. i feel very excited, i wonder if i could sell it?

I opened my package eagerly and then went on to read what the book was actually about. I thought 'Hold on I've read this ! This is The Glory Bus !' How so bitterly disappointed I am. I'm a huge fan of RL and have all of his novels, yet here I was led to believe that the pre-ordered book was actually a new spine tingler ! Amazon SHOULD state that the novel was previously written under a different title, as with Amara. I really feel conned and cannot understand why Amazon can't even display the detail of the novel, so those of us that have bought The Glory Bus can leave this novel alone. I will definately be returning it. Sorry Amazon, you're a great service but unfortunately not on this occassion.
The Glory Bus renamed! September 10, 2005 63 out of 64 found this review helpful
Although I'm a big fan of Richard Laymon I'm only giving this a 3 out of 5 because I bought this book thinking it was a new novel and it is actually 'The Glory Bus' under a different name.
