Bankai everywhere November 4, 2008 This seventeenth volume of the Bleach manga sees the conflict within the Soul Society growing with captain fighting captain and seemingly everyone using their most powerful attacks. This volume does somewhat sideline the majority of the main characters of the story mostly focussing on the battle between Renji and Byakuya, and Kenpachi's fight against the captains of both seventh and ninth squads.
This is a great volume with lots of action and it gives a good indication of what the various captains are capable of. The fight between Renji and Byakuya in particular is very good and definitely rates as one of the best in the series so far. This volume also gives some brief information on the back-story of Captain Tôsen of ninth company as well as revealing just what Captain Komamura looks like beneath his helmet. This is a great volume, five stars is nowhere near enough.
