4 out of 5 stars Plays to Please   May 25, 2006

A collection of Bennett's play's. Ordinary people doing ordinary things on an ordinary day. He writes as if it is all unfolding before our very eyes. In "Say Something Happened" he merges the young with the old. June in a new job parents divorced, living in a bedsit and working for the council meets Mam and Dad. Mam and Dad live alone and have two grown up childeren (one Dad does not want us to know about) and our Margaret. Margaret is a career woman and Dad follows her travels closely but Ma's not as impressed. All the plays contain a hint of the underlying sadness and a healthy dose of the reality of lifes of different people. As Mam says to June who parent's are divorced "There's alot more of that these days"
