3 out of 5 stars not great   November 6, 2008
well i have tried to enjoy the sequels of Sophia Kinsellas books but number one was the greatest read on the planet, i feel most people could relate to loads of stuff in that book.and laugh, well they say laugh at yourself, and you will if you haven't read it already, the sequels are in my mind somewhat confusing, and as the end chapter arrives it is as if she takes pot luck on the final couple of pages, it is rushed,as if the publisher is hounding her to finish the book no matter what, stick to book one, you will be soooo happy with it,

5 out of 5 stars The Best So Far!   April 7, 2008
It took just over 24 hours for me to read this brilliant book from start to finish. I've already ordered Shopaholic & Baby, and can't wait to receive it and start devouring that one too!

Back to this book: it has everything, laughter, tears, arguments and plenty of drama!

Can't recommend highly enough!

5 out of 5 stars Funniest of the series   December 5, 2007
I loved this book. Becky is as annoying as ever as she reverts to her shopaholic ways (not seen so much in Ties the Knot) but I just love seeing how she gets herself out of those situations where you think that Luke is eventually going to go completely crazy at her. He really does have the patience of a Saint. OK, the end with the sister is a little predictable but not totally since you don't know what will tip the scales to them being able to communicate with each other!!

Also, I kind of liked that she and Suze were not best friends anymore - that is so true to life....one friend gets married and has kids and starts hanging around with other mothers and you lose your place as "best" friend, especially when you go away for months on end. I'm sure it's happened to every woman of a certain age!!

Can't wait to read the next installment.

4 out of 5 stars great read   September 25, 2007
I had to laugh when Becky returned from her honeymoon and all these lorries turned up with her purchases. And then she is trying to "hide" it all or flog it on ebay. Like Luke wouldn't notice. This book was a very enjoyable read even though i lost interest a bit half way through as the sister just seems too different. But I stuck with it and it picked up again towards the end

3 out of 5 stars oh becky, why?   September 7, 2007
I really did have high hopes for this book. But sadly, i'm not 100% happy with it at all. I really started to warm to Becky in the last two books, especially 'Shopaholic Ties The Knot' and she seemed to grow up a lot, and the spending was less which i enjoyed actually. So i thought she would be different in this book, more grown up. Boy, was i wrong! She completely seemed to just revert back to the Becky i was almost hating in the first book.

She had gone back to the stupid spending ways that have got her into trouble before. All the stupid stuff she bought on honeymoon. And a 2,000 euro bag in Milan! So she discovers she can sell honeymoon crap on ebay, but then she buys stuff with the profits off ebay. stuff she doesnt need! she could pay off that 2,000 euro bag!! And she keeps stuff from the lovely Luke, even though she says they have an honest marriage! I feel really sorry for Luke at times, having to live with her!

And then comes Becky's sister, and before Becky has even met her, she just assumes she will like shopping and they will have girlie evenings like she had with Suze, who she's fallen out with. And another thing was that Suze had completely changed since having kids and i didnt like her or her new friend, and i always loved Suze. Anyway, the sister, Jess is completely different to Becky. She saves money, and is frugal, which i really liked about her. And it didnt take her long to realise what a spoilt, selfish, childish cow Becky can be.

There was times when i really didnt like Jess, she seemed a complete cow at times. Of course, towards the end of the book you realise why she's like she is, and why Suze behaved differently towards Becky.

And the best laughs of the book (which is why it gets 3 stars, not 2) are courtesy of the fabulous parents of Becky, Jane and Graham, and their neighbours, Janice, Martin and Tom. There is an hilarious bit on the bottom of page 129 i think it was. So funny! I love the people around Becky, it's just her who does my head in. And it's a shame because i really did like her more in the last two books. The last chapters of this book are really the best.

And the funny letters from various places are still dotted throught, and they have bank letters to Jess too, so you can compare her bank letters to Becky's, quite a difference. I'm more like Jess i think. But not AS bad! So even though i was mad, again, at Becky, it hasnt put me off the next book. I'm looking forward to see how she deals with pregnancy and everything. And to see how things are with her, Jess and Suze. And to see if she has actually grown up!
