LOST YOUR WAY? GET THIS BOOK! FIND BENRIK! October 22, 2007 23 out of 43 found this review helpful
Whilst coping with mine and my children's sudden berievment the other day, I was shopping for kiddie sized black clothing and came across "Lose Weight! Get Laid! Find God!" and it truely is an inspirational read (However for some reason I stupidly ended up buying Pearl Lowe's "All That Glitters" instead)
Via too much time spent in the book shop though, I gathered that "Lose Weight! Get Laid! Find God!" basically guides one through birth to death and contains the Benrik type humour that we have all grown to know and love from their yearly diaries. If I would have had 26.98 on me I would have bought both Pearl Lowe's autobiography AND "Lose Weight! Get Laid! Find God!" but alas I didn't, and since my fatherless children and I are about to be evicted from our home I really don't have any more money lying around.
HOWEVER "Lose Weight! Get Laid! Find God!" was THE only thing that brought a smile to my tearfull little face last week and ok so it won't bring my children's Dad back but hey, who needs parents when there are life-planners like this knocking about!
This book truely is a hilarious read even for those of us who are lucky enough to be slim, with no shortage of sexual offers and of no religious orientation, unlike Pearl Lowe's "All That Glitters" which is basically 277 pages of a drugged up celeb whining on about how tough life is when one has tonnes of money, a hugely successful husband and 4 beautiful, healthy children who one's nanny looks after.
I will DEFINITELY be taking "All That Glitters" back to Waterstones, fobbing them off with "it was an unwanted gift" and buying the Benrik book instead (from amazon though, as it's almost 4 cheaper!).
Good one! October 5, 2007 6 out of 9 found this review helpful
If you like the Benrik diarys (this diary will change your life) you will love this one!
It's basicly a diary for life, of things you have to do before you die, like have an unforgettable birth, begin therapy at 41 and becoming grumpy at 65.
They are bringing up tragic things in life with loads of humor and great graphics as usual, it makes you long until your 95 and have to escape fro your retirement home.
If you haven't had a lifecrise yet, this one will defenitley give you one!
