This book is an absolutely fascinating insight into the studio and mind of Francis Bacon. If you have never had the opportunity to visit the studio in Dublin's Muncipal Gallery then this is the next best thing. There are lots of photographs and illustrations. The process of moving the studio from London to Dublin is described in detail. However it is Margarita Cappock's text that really brings the whole thing to life. There have been biographies of Bacon but this book looks at his life and work in the context of his studio and provides many interesting new insights into the artist. I really enjoyed reading it.
