Being Jordan - I loved it! November 26, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This was the first book of katie's that i read and i really enjoyed it. She is very forward about everything she says and isn't afraid to speak what's on her mind! Thats what i love about it, it's just about her. It's a great read and i would recommend anyone to get it, it would be money well spent! :)
Extremely Enjoyable Reading August 8, 2007 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I've never been a huge Jordan fan, but I must admit that after watching their documentary series on ITV, I did revise my opinion of Katie and Peter - they seem to be much more normal than I had previously given them credit for. This book confirms that while Katie is a smart, well sussed business woman who knows exactly what she is doing, she is also a very loving wife and mother. Her story is written in an easy to read style and I suspect that many women will relate to her early relationship experiences. She tells her story frankly and openly, and even if you think that her behaviour at times is questionable, you have to admire her honesty. As most of the story was written just before her jungle experience and therefore pre-Peter, it's definitely part one of her journey to marriage and motherhood. I enjoyed this book and bought the second instalment immediately.
A Good Book July 23, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This Book is great!
Its covers starting a successful modelling career and you see pictures that work. And she shares idea's.
Her Boob sugery and the process and recovery etc. Everything.
Her Three week stay at the Playboy Mansion and her shoot with them and her promotion a year later.
Alot about Harvey, her family which you love to hear about.
It sounds like she is truly talking to you and an easy reader.
The 'feud' with Posh spice covered.
And many relationships such as Dane Bowers, Gareth Gates, Dwight (Harverys Dad) and more.
I gave it a four because because I think it went on ALOT about relationships. I wanted to know about her, not so much every detail of her relationship. E.g. 'I came home and he was watching TV' sort of stuff, details like that are cropping up alot.
Interesting book. Read it I say. Perfect for girls into Glamour modelling, Boobs jobs, Playboy and of course Katie herself. I love that stuff and I loved the book.
I love Jordan June 9, 2007 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
This is my favourite ever book! I love her. She is funny, honest, clever and a wonderful mother to Harvey and Junior.
I am not a regular reader I tend to start a book and finish it 3 months later however in 4 evenings I finished this book. You can't stop turning pages to see an insight into what is often thought of as her "fake, easy life and nothing more than a lassie who gets her assets out!" This could not be further from the truth. Katie clearly works as hard as us if not harder and she has put up with a lot of hassle from relationships which humbled me in a way to see that even someone as gorgeous, witty and itteligent as her puts up with a lot of nonesense in order to be loved. My heart went out to her.
By the end of the book I felt I knew her inside and out, good and bad points about her unlike other celebs who choose to tell you what they want you to believe. There is no holding Jordan back in this book.
I passed this round friends of all ages (20 - 62 years of age) most of which were sceptical about reading it "that glamour models book" however every one of the enjoyed and and went on to read her next one "A Whole New World"
I am now looking forward to her third one due out next year.
Buy this book, sit down with a chocolate bar, relax and before you know it the pages won't stop turning!!!
Given this a 5 star rating but that doesn't even come close to how good this book is!!
An enjoyable read April 29, 2007 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Before reading this, I met a man who claimed Paula Radcliffe was gutless and that Jordan was nowt but a tart. Me and three other women argued the podgy sod down about these women, citing strength, determination, and them having the makings of feminist icons as to why he was so wrong.
After reading this, I have to say I'm even more glad i stuck up for Jordan/Katie.
Whilst her attention to detail about men is flawless (be it about willy size or what clothes they wore on her first date) reading this, it's amazing how much she's fit into her years (some good and a lot of bad poor thing), and it's no surprise it's a bestseller as it's written in an easy to read, endearing style that reminds me of a big sister who used to lend you her copy of 'Forever' by Judy Blume, with the rude bits highlighted.
