Excellent & Essential Palaeontological Text! May 6, 2006

As someone who dreaded the idea of studying Microfossils I never expected to be praising a textbook on the subject. Written by two eminent palaeontologists, the second edition of Microfossils is a requisite text for many Palaeontological courses, this is not however just because it's one of a very select number of textbooks on the topic. Armstrong and Brasier manage to make Microfossils interesting and not at the expense of the quality of the information as happens in some textbooks. Information is clearly laid out and easy to find, presented logically under useful subheadings. Along with the wonderful mass of illustrations (line drawings mostly) the quality and concise quantity of information make this the only textbook that a student is likely to need on the topic.
