I really enjoyed this book, I thought the characters were believable and again it had me laughing out loud. A must read for Keyes fans!
A Fabuously Funny Book October 27, 2006 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
Excellent ! This was the first of Marian Keyes books I have read and thoroughly enjoyed it. Laughs from start to finish with an excellent storyline. The characters are strong and well defined with the right amount of description, sympathy etc for each. I shall certainly be reading more of her books and would think that she would appeal to most female readers.
Brilliant! October 6, 2006 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I am currently working my way through Marian Keyes books (initially on recommendation from my daughter) and this is one of my favourites so far. I loved the characters, Katherine in particular and, as with all her books, felt I knew them and felt I was there. She researches her subjects well and I found myself going to bed early just to read especially towards the end I couldn't put it down. Definate page turner and, as with all her books, I was sorry when it was all over...
loved it! August 30, 2006 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
I found this book a little difficult to get into at first,as there were quite a few characters, at the beginning the writing is a bit haphazard, and difficult to follow, and i really couldn't follow what was goin on! But as I got into the story, and worked out all the different characters, I really liked it. The characters are like real people, and are really frustrating at times, and the story is something you could actually imagine happening! I was a bit annoyed though that the blurb says something about the three friends meeting up with an actor from their past, but this doesn't happen until about 550 pages into the book! Overall though, an enjoyable read.
PERFECT TO RELAX TO August 17, 2006 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
At times you find yourself getting increasingly frustrated with the characters Katherine and Tara and their inability to move on from relationships that have had or are having a bad effect on their personalities and preventing them from being the sort of women they think they are, strong and independent. But everyone can relate to this inability, this self destructive tendency we have instilled in us to use as a defence mechanism when our relationships are not going as planned. But while this book raises important issues it also approaches them in a light hearted easy to read way with some witty observations.
