4 out of 5 stars Buffy lives on and on   June 12, 2008
The first volume of the 'season 8' comics left me slightly confused; some interesting plot twists and developments but little of the feel of the real Buffy, little of the claustrophobic sense of the small American town fighting bravely back against supernatural foes. The second volume has really developed the narrative arc, introducing a subplot involving Faith and Giles. The dialogue is strong and really develops the flavour and tone of the original series, whilst the illustrations are well-constructed and allow the authors to introduce much of the humour of the TV series.

after being blown away with the first 'episodes' of season 8(long way home)i was mesmerized with this story-line that focuses on Faith(yay) and Giles(double yay)where they have to work together to defeat a rogue slayer out to assassinate Buffy...but will Buffy get there first?and will Faith be able to kill a human again?
can't wait until the next graphic novel :) BUFFY4EVER!!!i hope in the future that Joss Whedon will bring back the cast to make a movie...it's what the franchise needs...and with the ever growing fanbase it seems likely that it will be successful...come on Joss!!!!and carry on with these fantastic stories...who is twilight???...NEXT UP BUFFY VS DRACULA-THE REMATCH (LOL)no kiddin:)

5 out of 5 stars Season Eight.   May 27, 2008

If you love the television series, you'll love the Season Eight Buffy comics. These are of a higher standard than any of the Pre-Season Eight Buffy comics that I've read. The creator of the Buffy television series, the illustrious Joss Whedon, has written the stories for these Season Eight comics, as well as writing the text for many of these issues.
Even if, like me, you haven't read a comic in years, you'll not regret getting your hands on Buffy Season Eight.

As well as recommending Buffy Season Eight, I also recommend Astonishing X-Men which is entirely written by Whedon. The outstanding text is complimented by Cassaday's fine artwork.
Even if you are new to American comic books, I strongly encourage you to buy the Astonishing X-Men trade paper backs, starting with the first volume, Gifted.
