If you catch yourself asking questions at 2am - this is the book for you April 30, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought a couple of books to read during my pregnancy. This was one of them and I have to say, I am really glad I did. It has everything in it from what to pack in your hospital bag to how to what your growing baby will look like at 28 weeks and everything and anything else. It really is 'the bible'. Excellent for just picking up and having a flick or to go to when you have a real question or worry.
The style of writing is very matter of fact, without being patronising or trying to be your friend which I liked as I wanted a no nonsense book to go along with the other books I'd bought. There is an excellent chapter for new dads and it goes well into birth and the first few weeks of having a baby so I think it will be with me for quite a while.
The only thing I'd have to complain about is the weight of it - leaning it on your bump while you lie in bed reading is not the most comfortable (and baby agrees!) but then, it's probably best not to read about birth or cleft palates or stretch marks just before you go to bed anyway!
A thoroughly good buy - highly recommended.
Brilliant! March 28, 2008 A fantastic point of reference. A reassuring and informative book which I have dipped into throughout my pregnancy, and which has never failed to answer my questions.

i bought this book when i fell pregnant with my daughter and i followed her development week by week with the help of the book. it was fascinating and very informative. the other practical advice and information about the pregnancy, birth and after care really helped me prepare mentally and physicly for the months ahead. i strongly recommend it!
The only pregnancy book i needed! February 19, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I found this book excellent. I bought this soon after i found out i was pregnant and feel like it has everything i need or want to know about pregnancy, delivery and the first few weeks with the baby. I love the fact it tells you what changes your body might be doing each week and how your baby is developing with a short description and pictures. I pick it up each week to see what my baby's up to and how its changing. It gives good advice on diet and what foods to avoid and how to keep fit. Theres many other sections too that look interesting and detailed which i still need to read! I don't feel like i need to buy another pregnancy book as this fills all my requirements. I highly recommend it to other expectant mothers.
Great for information February 5, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book gave us all the information we needed from conception to the pregnancy niggles. I actually also used the book to help me identify a condition called cholestasis which I developed in my third trimester. And by identifying it, I was able to be monitored and eventually had to be enduced. We saved myself and our baby.
