Amazing April 9, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I'm a big fan of the show and I bought The Grimmerie to get a more in depth knowledge. It's fantastic! The pictures are bold and bright, there is so much information! I'm also glad I bought it here for half the price of what it is on sale for at the Wicked merchandise website. I loved the interviews and behind the scenes look, and I will be trying to learn Elphie's dance too xD The libretto is quite good as it puts in the extra dialogue into the songs which will come in useful for musical theatre exams xD All in all a must have if you are a big fan of the show!!
It hasn't got the whole script in it!! April 9, 2007 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
I bought this book after being advised that it had the full script in it, unfortunatley it does not, just small area's of dialouge to set the basic story, so a lot of the good parts are missing! Besides this a lovely souvenier!
A Wicked Purchase August 9, 2006 25 out of 25 found this review helpful
I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I bought the Grimmerie, as my only points of reference were the cover, and amazon uk/us site reviews.
However, if anyone considers themselves a serious fan of the show, this is absolutely a must-have.
There is alot of detail on how the show was put togther, how it came to be from the first ideas of the plot in Maguire's head to a fully-fledged hit on Broadway.
The photos are fantastic, although most were nothing I hadn't seen before from promotional shots except for some like those of Elphie "getting green" and some special shots of the tour cast etc.
The detail that has gone into the book is wonderful and the size and material within it are well worth the price.
I was disappointed by nothing, and so thoroughly recommend it. It's a great companion book to the show, and I've not yet seen something quite like it, bar the Rent "bible" by Jonathon Larson. Hopefully it'll inspire other hit shows to do the same!
